I have been wanting to see this movie, well since I heard about the soundtrack even before the movie debued in thatres. I didn't manage to catch it it the theatres, and it wasn't until Peeps reminded me that it was out on dvd, that I found it in on Netflix and bumped it up on my que. And I must say, I really like the movie. It left me really contemplative and perplexed about life and where I was. the only thing I didn't like was at the end how they had such a long shot of his dead body staring out the window. And how eerie was it when they showed the real 'Alex' photo!
But the thing that really made me think, was at the end how he said ' Hppiness is only real unless shared'. What do you guys think of that? Him saying that comes from a passage in a book, where it describes exactly the typr of happiness he was looking for, out in the wilderness, no societal controls, his eutopia. But after he achieved his sort of paradise, he was so lonely, and no one to share his world.
But, then I was thinking, is self-fullfillment enough? I think sharing your fullfillment just adds another factor or level to satisfaction. What do you guys think?( BTW Eddie won a golden globe for his soundtrack on this, whoo hoo!)
